Feral Cats to fight rising tide of rats More cats on the streets of Lisbon for a public health reason

The program Patrulha Gato (Cat Patrol), approved by the City Hall of Lisbon will start this month.

The project aims to relocate feral cat colonies to neighborhoods with complains about the presence of mouses and rats.

According to the statement, "requests for the reception of feral cats can be made by private individuals or public bodies, or placed, at the request of the Urban Hygiene public services in public places where there is an excess of rats and where there is no logistical or legal impediment to the placement of cats".
