New Study Explores Relationship Between Cat Welfare And Owner Personality

Authored by Lauren R. Finka, Joanna Ward, Mark J. Farnworth, and Daniel S. Mills, the study is one of the first studies to draw parallels between parent-child and owner-pet relationships.

"The study findings demonstrate that the relationship between carer personality and the care received by a dependent, may extend beyond the human family to animal-owner relationships , with significant implications for the choice of management, behaviour and potentially the broader wellbeing of companion animals".

The study "Owner personality and the wellbeing of their cats share parallels with the parent-child relationship" is available online here.
