Malaga: The Plenary Council approved to adhere to the Cat Manifesto and to regulate cat colonies

On the 29th October 2015 the Plenary City Council of Malaga has approved the adherence to the Cat Manifesto. The Plenary also approved that the local ordinance for the protection of animals will be amended in order to introduce the new category of “feral cat” to the text. The representative of the Permanent Commission on Environmental Sustainability, who participated in the Parliamentary Forum on Feline protection last April, came up with the proposal to add this new category arguing that the existing definitions of domestic and wild animals are not adapted to the specificity of the urban cat, as stated in the second point of the Feline Manifesto.
