Human anti-viral drug offers hope for cats

New research by the University of California (UC) Davis suggests the treatment GS-5734, proved to be effective in preventing ebola in rhesus monkeys and inhibiting coronaviruses in tissue culture and mouse model infections, could also offer hope to cats with feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), which is estimated to kill up to 1.4 per cent of cats around the world.
